I switched my allegiance from Leeds Utd (after they appointed Clough) to Leicester, having been captivated by Joe Waters' goals, his face when he scored his second, and Barry Davies' sublime commentary.

The commentary and the atmosphere absolutely crackles. Halcyon cup days, Colchester, Hereford, Millwall at Everton, Fulham v Birmingham, Sunderland v Man City and Arsenal even before the final, Watford v Liverpool, Arsenal v Stoke semis

A fantastic day and a fantastic Cup run that year.. We should have beaten Liverpool In the semi's but lost In a replay after bossing the 1st game… We would have beat Newcastle In the Final too…. I believe we played every round up to the semis against London Clubs too… Tottenham, Fulham. Luton, QPR… Still QPR's record crowd to this day… Leicester fans everywhere and making plenty on noise….

I have tried to remember what game this was for forty years. Being down the park playing football and shouting "Oh yes for the youngster",when you did anything half decent. They were two fantastic goals though. Look at his face, just look at his face!!

I'm 49 in a few short weeks.  I've NEVER forgotten that commentary either. Fantastic stuff when the FA Cup played to full houses and league gates were lower! – The greatest competition in the world ruined by the greed that is the Premier League! – legends like Joe Waters, Dickie Guy (remember him?) Ronnie Radford.  We salute you all 🙂
