Leicester City vs Leeds United
England – Premier League
Date: Saturday, 5 March 2022
Kick-off at 12:30 UK/ 13:30 CET
Venue: King Power Stadium.

Leeds have been in such disastrous mode, that they had to bid goodbye to their manager, the legendary Marcelo Bielsa, in midst of the season. Despite the best of his attempts, the veteran could not manage to place his team in a safe position in the table.

As of now, they occupy the 16th spot in the standings, with a surplus of just two points over the relegation cut-off. And with the 18th placed Burnley showing a great deal of improvement lately, the team is under a lot of pressure.

And it just gets worse for them. They are on the road this weekend, and are pitted against former champions Leicester. The Foxes seem to be getting back into their groove, after a tough schedule. And they will be eager to make the most of this upcoming encounter.

By the looks of things, expect Leicester to have the upper hand this Saturday.

Leicester City vs Leeds United Head-to-head (h2h)
The last four encounters had goals from both teams.
Three of these four clashes had four or more goals.
Since 2002, only twice have the guests kept clean sheets at this stadium.
Since 1999, the hosts have lost just thrice here.
Leicester City vs Leeds United Prediction & Analysis
Leicester registered a 0-2 win on the road the last match-day, against Burnley. They had also won three of their past four overall fixtures, and they had won six of their former nine appearances at home.

In fact, they have lost just once at home in the past three-month period in all competitions, and this loss had come against the Spurs.

On the other hand, Leeds lost 0-4 at home the past game week, against Tottenham. They are also on a four-fixture losing streak, and they are on a six-game winless run as well. Do also note that they were winless in 30 of their past 36 fixtures.

Considering these observations, expect a win for Leicester this weekend. And taking into account the poor defense of Leeds, anticipate goals in plenty too.

Key Stats for Betting
Leeds have conceded the most number of goals in the English top flight.
They are one of the only two squads to have remained winless in the past five games in the league.
Meanwhile, the Foxes have lost just four times at home during this league campaign, and the losses had come against some of the best teams in England – Manchester City, Chelsea, Arsenal, and Tottenham.

Team News

Leicester will again be missing Timothy Castagne, Jonny Evans, James Justin, Wesley Fofana and Ryan Bertrand for this weekend’s contest, while Ricardo Pereira will have a late fitness test on a hamstring issue.

Maddison and Vardy both came off the bench to score against Burnley, and it would not be a surprise to see the pair in the starting XI on Saturday afternoon, although the former is carrying a lower back issue.

Ademola Lookman could also be in line for a start if Marc Albrighton is pressed into action at right-back, while Daniel Amartey should again feature alongside Caglar Soyuncu at the heart of the defence.

As for Leeds, Marsch revealed during his pre-match press conference that Patrick Bamford is back in training, and the striker could potentially be on the bench this weekend.

Liam Cooper, Kalvin Phillips and Leo Hjelde are also still absent, while Diego Llorente has emerged as a fresh doubt, having missed training on Thursday.

Marsch is believed to be considering lining up in a back three at the King Power Stadium, although Llorente’s fitness could play a role in his final decision, while Raphinha, Jack Harrison and Daniel James should feature as the attacking trident, with Bamford potentially appearing off the bench.

Leicester City possible starting lineup:
Schmeichel; Albrighton, Amartey, Soyuncu, Thomas; Tielemans, Ndidi; Lookman, Maddison, Barnes; Vardy

Leeds United possible starting lineup:
Meslier; Ayling, Koch, Llorente; Dallas, Forshaw, Klich, Firpo; Raphinha, James, Harrison

We say: Leicester City 2-1 Leeds United
The Leeds players will be looking to impress their new manager this weekend, and we are expecting a much-improved performance from the visitors. Leicester were impressive against Burnley last time out, though, and we are backing the Foxes to collect all three points in front of their own supporters.
