Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men were knocked out of the top four after losing to Leicester. Despite Mason Greenwood’s stunning goal putting United ahead, the team’s long undefeated away run in the league came to an end. Three goals in 13 second-half minutes for the hosts put Solskjaer’s team behind 4-2 and left them with only two victories in their previous seven matches. After a strong start to the 2021-22 season, the Red Devils have since gone winless in their past three league games.
Paul Pogba couldn’t hide his disappointment and he admitted that his team deserved to lose the game. The Frenchman started in midfield alongside Nemanja Matic and struggled against the Foxes duo of Youri Tielemans and Boubakary Soumare.
Pogba opened up about United’s problems and said, «It’s all of us, need to find something, we need to change something. I don’t know if it’s the mindset of all of us. It’s frustrating because it’s something that we don’t understand and we have to find it very fast because if you want to compete and win the title then these are the games you have to win, even though they are hard and we are playing away. You have to find the game, you need to find the right mentality, the right tactic to win this game. That’s my thought and we have time to think about it and then we have to stick together and find the problem.»
Paul Pogba’s contract with Manchester United expires in the summer of 2022, and his future remains uncertain. Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, and Juventus are linked as potential destinations if he decides to leave Old Trafford. Pogba will be free to negotiate his future from January 1 if he does not sign a new contract with United.
