It's all over
Can we keep in mind city got 3 point vs wolves for a dodgy penalty that shouldnt have been and also the fact liverpool got robbed vs spurs… Small margins deciding titles shambolic officials. PL worst refs in world football.
Oil money talks LOL.
Mane and Salah left for AFCON earlier than scheduled.
The amount of bias here on ESPN FC is mind boggling.
The only question is
"Will City give you a chance?"
The premier league is the most competitive…
Pep: I'll win four out of five EPL titles. ???
As a Liverpool fan its great to be out of the race as fast as possible so we can concentrate on the more important Champions League. Nobody can compete with a multi-trillion oil state funded team over 38 games.
As long Liverpool going into Carabao final, it's good news..
Why’re you only taking about Liverpool Leicester won against u with trillions of injuries
Can we stop with the "City has 1000 world class players" excuse already? Yeah they used to have a lot of players…like four years ago. Since then they have let go of: Kompany, Silva, Aguero, Sane, Delph, Danilo, Garcia, Otamendi, Angelino, – and now Torres. The only players coming in: Ake, Dias, Cancelo, Rodri and Grealish.
City this season have 17 outfield players. Two of them are Academy Graduates (Foden+Palmer), one of them cost practically nothing (Zinchenko) and three of them cost 20m each (Fernandinho, Jesus, Gundogan) – and people act like City has fifty 100M-Players on the bench. They have seventeen outfield players. One of them still 19, another one already 37.
Do you think Liverpool – who couldn't even score a single goal vs depleted Leicester – would be leading the league if their fourth choice CB was Ake?
There was a point in the season where Stones, DeBruyne, Foden, Grealish, and Gundogan were all out. City had practically only keepers and academy players on the bench and were playing with 19yo Palmer in attack and Zinchenko in midfield. And with these circumstances, City played 3 games in 7 days: vs PSG and vs West Ham (who beat both Liverpool and Chelsea) in the span of 3/4 days. Same starting XIs, no substitutions. And instead of losing and making excuses…they just won. They won all three of those games.
I'll tell you this much: If Liverpool had Zinchenko in midfield and Ake to rotate in defence….they'd still not be on top of the league and fans would still cry about City's squad depth.
Epl is boring . BL tax again on xmas dd
These pundits are actually stupid. Klopp never said it's unfair to Liverpool the way the league is scheduled, he said the scheduling is too demanding for the players, as in all the players in the league. He's just sticking up for the players league wide, he's not saying Liverpool have had an unfair lot
Shaka and Stevie make the point of City staying professional, weren’t two of their players out on the town and got sent home from training? I think that’s quite a lack of professionalism and we will hear more from them.
it's over – Pep is the best league season manager out there , only way they lose would be covid hitting his squad
When people say it's all down to the final third, they misunderstand the greatness of LFC and consequently misunderstand what JK said in his post-match press conference. The *reason* the front three are so good is because the entire team builds up a foundation upon which the front three can capitalize with composure. Remember JK is always talking about defending from the front, well they also attack from the back. But the overall energy levels were so low, they could not create that foundation, and that miasma pervaded the entire performance.
One good metric for this is how crisply the passes occur in buildup. With normal LFC performances, all of the back line ping that s*** around with purpose. In this game, only TAA was doing this. Usually at the very least Henderson is able to motivate the team, but for some reason he was unable to do so this time. I think one of their failsafes in this regard, Robertson, was a huge miss for them. That dude just runs no matter what, but in this instance, that same fire is what got him in trouble the previous game (terrible "tackle")!
Regardless, it was still a good game to watch – if only that it was so uncharacteristic of them. Reminded me of their bizarre performance against Tottenham in the CL final a couple years ago. I'm really looking forward to their response.
And people say liverpool are better favourite than real Madrid
Klopp did not complain about the fixture AFTER the Leicester defeat.
He blamed it on the players having a bad game.
How do you score more goals than the other team and not "deserve" to win the game? Idiotic concept.
Mark Ogden is such a bitter Man United fan. "I think Liverpool are more exciting to watch but City are just so good :(" . Lol that's a low key way of saying City are boring for United fans to watch because they only watch games in the hopes of their rivals dropping points. City play the best football in the league by a distance, fans of the beautiful game can appreciate what it is that makes City so good. People are entitled to their opinions but the problem I have with it, is when people attach "for the neutrals", if you're saying that you cannot be watching the games as a neutral. To take it to the extreme for example, it's like saying a pub fight is more exciting than watching a elite professional such as Ali in his prime dominate world class opponents. That's the furthest thing from boring to those people who are truly watching as neutrals. Mark finds City boring because they are too good and he's only tuned in, in the hopes of an upset, they give him no hope of that.
English football ⚽️ squads need 60-100 footballers for the conjested fixture list
