I’m loving this, I was born in Leicester and left 50 years ago! Although I have gone back several times it’s so interesting to see what the buildings are now and what I remember them to have been. ❤

I live in Ratby and Arriva have now reduced our 27 service to St Margaret's to just one an hour. As it now takes a long time to visit and return it is no longer worth the effort. Most of the buses travelling through our village are almost always empty. It can no longer be a viable commercial proposition and I believe many working in the city centre will have to carefully consider their future prospects in view of the inconvenience. At one time everyone was encouraged to use Public Transport.

What I would say about the friendliness comments is it's a bit of both I've met some people who I would rather avoid at all cost but definitely a lot of amazing people here as well

Thanks for doing this video, it's look very nice and quiet but if you come around 5-6 pm, at the weekend by the high street , the pavements and all the walk way around the high street just full of rubbish and if you notice there are a lot of chewing gums stucked on the floor everywhere. I don't understand why people are so irresponsible and lazy!

Leicester is not the place I grew up in, the market used to be so vibrant, it's a shame to see so many stalls empty, I think there's an hidden agenda with the political elite of the City.

there is alot of ''all the homeless are junkies'' id like to clear up i was homeless for 3 years along these streets you see and i was as clean as a whistle whilst others where either taking crack heroin or mamba i managed to stay away from all that as i knew id end up a statistic. please dont think all are junkies.

I live in Leicester and haven't been to 'town' (as we call it here) in years, because unfortunately it is becoming less attractive, a lot of drinkers and drug users everywhere, and the good shops just aren't there anymore, its not as pleasant of a place to be as it used to be, but this is bringing back many childhood memories, even though its drastically changed, especially the Silver Arcade! Thanks man.

Born, raised and still reside in Leicestershire. I used to work in the town centre but sad to say that I am glad I don't ever have to go in there now. The lanes you started in have always been nice but when in the main part of the city it seems all bars and fast food.
Most of the shops you walked by have changed so much over the last 15 years and I just can not think of a reason I would have to go back there now. I don't like shopping at best of times but when I have no choice but to go I prefer out of town retail parks with lots of free parking.

(19:20) Lots of food delivery electric cycles whizzing along the pavements using ILLEGAL 500w barrel motors by law in electric cycles is 250W motors i never understand why the police have not confiscated them more than likely being above the allowed 15.5MPH speed limit🙄.

Thank you young man, we really enjoyed that, and thank you for sticking up for our city. The crest on the leicester badge, says semper Eadem, always the same in Latin,so wrong, as a resident for nearly 70yrs, we have seen enormous change, over the decades, some for the good, some not,but overall, personally I agree with you, mostly still friendly, and especially around the cathedral area, with King Richard the 3rd,lovely area. Thank you again, and looking forward to watching the rest of your walks.

Historically, Leicester is fantastic. Sadly, for me personally, that's all it has to offer. The Highcross is always worth a visit, but apart from that, the place leaves me cold. It isn't the place it was. Born and raised in Leicester, now living on the outskirts.

Some lovely areas here love how you find all the nooks and crannies in these places. Loved the clock tower and Mr Bean 😂. Another interesting place thanks for taking me keep on walking 🚶🏻🤞❤️

Shall be on the wheel next week, then a walk round to see the beautiful lights. Leicester lights are all over and not to be missed. Also booked for Christmas Carol in the Guildhall, fantastic

Thanks 'Gimbal Walk TV', I enjoyed your Leicester tour! Can you please go to STONEYGATE next, a nice area not far from here, a tour of the SHOPS on Allandale Road & Francis Street would be great! Many thanks in advance! 🙂

I was born and raised in Leicester but left in 1971 with my husband and children to live in his home town. I have fond memories of my old home but, sad to say, apart from street names I don't recognise anything. It all looks so different. I'm glad to see though that it still looks to be a prosperous city.😊

I have a sad face for Leicester (my City) looking at this footage. I recall years back when you had to walk in the middle of the road (along Granby Street) and likewise around the Market to get anywhere at a decent pace. Now it all looks so deserted! Lots of property to let in the centre (because of high business rates). I'm afraid to say it is a shadow of it's former, more prosperous years. I'm curious to see how it compares to some of the other nearby cities from your videos, to see if it's the same elsewhere. Welcome back to Leicester though Gimbal Walk TV (happy face)!!

You made my home town look so nice! It’s such a shame the market is so quiet, it used to be so busy and every stall would be open. So many eating places now where there used to be banks, beautiful buildings. Thank you and hope to bump into you in Melton Mowbray soon (I know you have already been but you missed the area around the church, so pretty). You should go when it’s one of the vintage markets/classic car Sundays.
