After their game against Burnley was postponed over the weekend, it will have been 11 days since the last time Leicester City took to the field. Even with notable absentees due to injuries and the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations, the ‘Foxes’ could yet mount a top-four challenge considering they have games in hand over their rivals, though this match against an improving Tottenham Hotspur could prove pivotal in that aim.
Recent history suggests that Leicester could outfox Spurs here, as they have now won as many Premier League (PL) H2Hs across the last four clashes (W2, L2) as they did in 12 such matches prior (D7, L3). Not only this, Leicester are currently on their best winning run of home games (W5) since a seven-game run ending in December 2019.
Antonio Conte has already broken Tottenham’s record for consecutive unbeaten league games under a new manager (W5, D3) and he will now set his sights on keeping that run going by continuing his dominant form in personal H2Hs with Leicester (W5, D1). Doing so could see a quick Spurs start as they’ve scored a first-half winner in three of their five league wins under Conte.
However, superstitious Tottenham fans may be wary of the fact their side have lost four of the last five PL away games they’ve played on a Wednesday (W1), which is a marked downturn following just three losses from 15 such games prior (W10, D2, L3).
Players to watch: Leicester’s Patson Daka is expected to lead the line in Jamie Vardy’s absence, and each of his four scoring appearances this term produced over 3.5 total goals! For Tottenham, Harry Kane will be licking his lips at the prospect of facing Leicester as he’s scored more PL goals against them than vs any other side (15).
Hot stat: The last nine PL H2H meetings have averaged 4.33 goals per game and there’s never been a 0-0 top-flight scoreline in 88 meetings since 1925!

Leicester City’s bid to secure a Conference League Qualifiers spot for next season is set to be tested again ahead of their Sunday match at King Power Stadium against Everton, who have hopes of kickstarting their fight against relegation.

Leicester City sit in 11th place on 42 points, having scored 48 goals and conceded 54. With five matches left, the Foxes trail seventh-placed West Ham United by 10 points for a spot in the Conference League Qualifiers. Leicester were defeated 3-1 in their last Premier League match at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium against Tottenham Hotspur, extending their winless streak to four (W0 D2 L2).
Everton’s last league match saw them triumph 1-0 over Chelsea at home, leaving them in 18th place on 32 points, two points from safety with five matches remaining.
The teams played out a 1-1 draw in their last Premier League meeting, an April match at Goodison Park. Harvey Barnes scored the Foxes’ lone goal in the fifth minute. Richarlison scored the lone goal for the Toffees in the 92nd minute.
Everton have got the better of Leicester of late, unbeaten in their last four Premier League matches (W2 D2 L0). Leicester are looking for their first league win in fixtures between the two clubs since December 2019. The Toffees have outscored the Foxes 6-3 during their unbeaten streak.
Jamie Vardy and James Maddison have proved attacking threats for Leicester this season. Vardy is the side’s top scorer with 10 goals. Nearly as impressive, Maddison has scored eight times, including two match-openers.
Richarlison and Demarai Gray have been Everton’s main attacking threats, scoring eight and five times, respectively.
On home soil this season, Leicester have eight wins, four draws, and four losses in 16 Premier League contests. The Foxes are looking to extend a six-match home unbeaten streak (W3 D3 L0) dating to January 23 against Brighton & Hove Albion. Everton will seek to address a poor run of results on the road this season with three draws, 12 losses, and just one win in league away contests. The Toffees will be out to end a 14-match away winless streak (W0 D2 L12). The last time they earned a win away was August 2021 against Brighton & Hove Albion.
In their last six league matches, Leicester have won one, drawn three and lost two. Everton, meanwhile, have won two, drawn one and lost three in their last six.

Holding Leicester City to a 1-1 draw in the first leg of this UEFA Europa Conference League (UECL) semi-final has boosted Roma’s chances of reaching their first UEFA competition final since the 1990/91 UEFA Cup. Sunday’s home clash against Bologna wasn’t the ideal preparation for this meeting though after manager José Mourinho was forced to call upon rested regular starters (including Tammy Abraham and Rick Karsdorp) to help his side try and secure a crucial victory – but that was something they ultimately failed to do (0-0).
That result may end up damaging their Europa League prospects for next season, placing further pressure on Roma to qualify via winning the UECL. It was also the fourth competitive fixture since the beginning of February that Roma failed to win at home (W4, D4), but with away goals no longer coming into play, their impressive unbeaten home record across their last two seasons of continental football (W9, D4) should be a well of confidence to draw from.
Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers stated he and his players have “no fear” as they head to the Stadio Olimpico in pursuit of the club’s first-ever UEFA final, and it was clear where his priorities lay after resting several starters in their recent Premier League defeat at Tottenham (3-1). Rodgers lost five of his first seven clashes with “The Special One”, but he can now boast going two games undefeated against Mourinho after a 2-0 win away to Mourinho’s Tottenham side last season which preceded last week’s 1-1 draw.
The Foxes’ path to this semi-final saw them follow up a home draw with a dramatic come-from-behind 2-1 win at PSV, their second away victory from three attempts in the knockout stage of this tournament. How they handle the step up to Roma could be a different story, especially when you take into account Leicester have lost all six UEFA trips they’ve played against clubs in Europe’s top-five leagues throughout their history, most recently in the Round of 16 vs French side Rennes (L 2-1).
Players to watch: Lorenzo Pellegrini has scored for Roma in two UECL knockout fixtures so far. Kelechi Iheanacho was Leicester’s only goalscorer at the weekend and also found the net in their Round of 16 triumph.
Hot stat: Since the beginning of the UECL’s Round of 16, 73% of the matches have seen both teams score.

With a place in next season’s Champions League nearly in their grasp, Chelsea look to add three more points to their Premier League total on Thursday at Stamford Bridge against Leicester City, who sit in mid-table ahead of their visit.
Join this channel here:
Chelsea sit in third place on 70 points, 20 points behind first-placed Manchester City. Fifth-placed Arsenal, the first club outside of the Champions League positions, are four points behind the Blues. Chelsea won their last Premier League match 3-0 at Elland Road against Leeds United, snapping a three-match winless streak (W0 D2 L1).
Leicester City’s last league match saw them triumph 5-1 over Watford at Vicarage Road, leaving them in ninth place on 48 points. The Foxes have scored 57 goals and conceded 57 through 36 matches.
The previous Premier League fixture between the teams saw Chelsea emerge victorious 3-0 at King Power Stadium in November. Antonio Rüdiger opened the scoring for the Blues in the 14th minute. N’Golo Kanté and Christian Pulisic also were on target.
Mason Mount and Romelu Lukaku have caught the eye for Chelsea this season. Mount is the club’s leading scorer with 11 goals, four of those having been the critical first of the match. Nearly as impressive, Lukaku has netted eight times, including four match-openers.
Jamie Vardy has been the leading attacking threat for Leicester, scoring on 14 occasions.
At Stamford Bridge this season, Chelsea have eight wins, six draws, and three losses in 17 Premier League contests. Leicester have played away from home 18 times in the league this season, earning 17 points from 54 available (W4 D5 L9).
In their last six league matches, Chelsea have won two, drawn two and lost two. Leicester, meanwhile, have won two, drawn two and lost two in their last six

Ahead of the club’s first ever European semi-final, Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers said this UEFA Europa Conference League game against Roma will be “amazing” for everyone at the club as they look to build on a run of one defeat in eight competitive games (W3, D4). He might be concerned that his side created very little against Aston Villa on Saturday though, despite dominating possession (0-0).
The ‘Foxes’ haven’t lost any of their six home European games this term (W3, D3), which is a run that started with a 2-2 draw in their last encounter here against Italian opponents (Napoli) – that was also the only one of those six games in which they conceded more than once. In fact nobody’s beaten Leicester here since Roma boss José Mourinho’s former club Tottenham did in mid-January (W5, D4) too.
Mourinho lost his last encounter with Rodgers’ Leicester in December 2020 having previously gone unbeaten against the Northern Irishman (W5, D2), and his Roma side will also enter this clash on the back of a 3-1 defeat to Inter Milan which ended their 12-match unbeaten Serie A run (W7, D5). His experience of managing in England could prove vital as Roma have lost both previous UEFA semi-finals against English opposition.
On both occasions, they played the first leg away from home, scoring twice but conceding at least five times, rendering second leg victories at home academic. Not since 2001 have ‘I Giallorossi’ triumphed in England (D4, L9) so if their bid for a maiden UEFA title is to stay on course, a better showing to mark their first ever competitive visit to the East Midlands is essential.
Players to watch: Leicester forward Ademola Lookman has scored his last three goals before half-time, but Roma’s Tammy Abraham – the UECL’s joint top-scorer – has been even quicker off the mark, netting his last three goals before the 25th minute.
Hot stat: The UECL has produced an average of 2.91 goals per game this term.

Newcastle United and Leicester City face a key Premier League battle in their bid to secure a Conference League Qualifiers place on Sunday at St. James’ Park.
Leicester City sit in ninth place on 40 points, while Newcastle United are placed 15th on 34 points. With nine matches left, the Foxes trail sixth-placed West Ham United by 11 points for a spot in the Conference League Qualifiers. The Magpies are 17 points outside of the tournament spot.
Leicester City earned a 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace at home in their last Premier League match to extend their unbeaten streak to three (W2 D1 L0). Newcastle also won their last Premier League match 1-0 at home against Wolverhampton Wanderers, breaking a three-match losing streak.
Leicester won the last Premier League meeting between the teams, emerging victorious 4-0 at King Power Stadium in December. Youri Tielemans led the Foxes with two goals, scoring in the 38th and 81st minute. Patson Daka and James Maddison also found the net.
Visitors Leicester have been helped by Jamie Vardy and Maddison, who have scored 10 and eight times, respectively.
Two players who have been crucial for Newcastle this season are Callum Wilson and Allan Saint-Maximin. Wilson is the club’s top scorer with six goals, five of which have been the crucial first of the match. Saint-Maximin has been nearly as impressive, scoring five times, including two match-openers.
Hosts Newcastle have five wins, six draws, and four losses this season in 15 Premier League contests on home soil. In league matches away from King Power Stadium this season, Leicester have earned 13 points from 42 available (W3 D4 L7).
In their last six league matches, Newcastle have won three and lost three. Leicester, meanwhile, have won four, drawn one and lost one in their last six.
